For our friends who are still working amidst the Covid-19 outbreak, we thank you! Please read below for tips to keep you safe. Finally, the long-awaited spring season is around the corner. As the weather begins to get warmer, it’s time you prepare your tow truck for adventurous outdoor trips. In this post, we will share a few easy tips to make your vehicle ready for towing a trailer this spring. So here we go: 1. Wash Your Tow Truck: You can take your truck to a truck wash center or use a high-quality liquid cleaner for washing the body of your vehicle. If you notice stubborn stains left by snow, ice, or grit on the body of your vehicle, use a powerful cleaning product to efface the marks. Once you are done washing your truck, apply quality wax on it to make it shine like new. 2. Check the Tires: Start with cleaning the tires and wheels of your tow truck. It is advisable to use a tire and wheel cleaner and apply it all over the tire. Use a tire scrubbing brush with strong bristles to scrub the tires thoroughly. Once you are done cleaning the tires, apply the cleaning product to the wheels of your truck. Let the cleaning solution sit for a minute or two, and then clean the dirt using a paintbrush. Now use a hose to wash the wheels and tires and use a microfiber detailing towel for drying both. At the same time, make sure you replace the worn-out tires of your vehicle to avoid injuries and road fatalities. 3. Check the Battery: Freezing temperature can affect the battery life of your tow truck. Therefore, spring is the right time to test your vehicle's battery. Find out if the battery terminals are free from corrosion and dirt to ensure optimal driving. 4. Check the Brakes: Since breaks are the most essential safety component of your vehicle, get them thoroughly inspected by a mechanic to ensure they are working well. If you hear weird sounds when using your brakes, get them replaced immediately. 5. Replace Your Truck's Wiper Blades: Your windshield wipers are mostly used whenever it snows or rains or for removing grime and bugs. The rubber on your truck's wiper blades often becomes hard during winters and may also tear while dealing with freezing temperatures. Thus, consider replacing your vehicle's wiper blades as soon as spring arrives. At the same time, clean the dirt from your front and rear windows thoroughly using a good window cleaning solution to extend the life of your wiper blades. 6. Monitor Fluids: Keep tabs on the quality of your truck's fluid, such as windshield wiper fluid, brake fluid, suspension fluid, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, etc. to ensure safe operation. Make sure you replace contaminated fluids so that they do not end up corroding the internal components of your vehicle. 7. Get Your Tow Truck Serviced: Last but not least, spring is also the prime time to get your truck serviced by an authorized service center for maintenance and repairs. Getting your truck in good shape in spring keeps your vehicle running at its best and helps avoid costly repairs in the future. Thus, make sure you adhere to the spring-cleaning tips shared by us to make your truck road-ready for spring. For more information and to contact us call us here
